What’s It Worth? Buy/ Sell Value of American Gold Eagles
Buy or Sell American Gold Eagles: The Value Far Exceeds Face Value
It is generally equal to the market value (spot or melt price) of the gold content. As an added bonus, there’s a premium too.
American Gold Eagles are legal tender in the United States for all public or private debt, but only at their face value.
Their intrinsic value far outweighs their face value due to their weight and the current precious metal price.
We currently are using Kitco Bid Price as our price for gold, silver, platinum, and other precious metals. Call or stop by today for the most accurate spot price.
1 oz. American Gold Eagle
If you want to buy the 1 oz. American Gold Eagles – Brilliant Uncirculated listed on our Online Shop.
For the 1 oz. American Gold Coin, we base it off the spot price of the current market. The spot price is reported in Troy ounces, per ounce.
Thus, the following formula would be used:
(Current Spot Price x Weight) + Premium = Purchase Price
1/2 oz. American Gold Eagle:
Buying 1/2 oz. American Gold Eagles – Brilliant Uncirculated instead?
However, since the ½ oz. American Gold Eagle is only half the weight of the spot price weight, it is considered a melt price. This applies to all fractional gold coins.
Thus, the following formula would be used:
(Current Spot Price x Weight) + Premium = Purchase Price
